Would you like to work for Signalong?
If you live within reach of our centre in Rochester, we're looking for a part-time Administrative Assistant to help us with data entry processing orders and a whole lot more. We want somebody to start in January, 15 hours per week to begin with, interviews on 19th December. For a job description and application form please email Mike Kennard at email@example.com
The work goes on ...
The previous Board of Trustees voted to cease operations on 12th March and to close Signalong. However, the membership of the charity voted overwhelmingly to reject this course of action on 15th April and a new Board was elected. Signalong is now thriving again, but we need Signalong users to keep supporting us - if you would like to support the continuation of Signalong's work you can become a member by downloading and returning the membership form.
Join us on Facebook
There's a lively group page at www.facebook.com/groups/82451315934 where you can join in the discussions if you don't like to use our forum pages. You can also sign up for our Sign Club Facebook page - can you recognise the sign from the description?
Help us to raise funds
When Signalong was temporarily closed, users and members rallied not only by voting against the closure but also by raising over £14,000 to help the charity's finances - and they're still doing it! There's an indoor boot fair in Maidstone on 26th May - if you're in the area, come along. There are still a few tables available if you have bric-a-brac and other things that you don't need. Contact Mike for more details. What can you do to help?
New Signalong App
Today we have released a new Android App, It is called Signalong Nouns and contains 50 signs that appear in Phase 1. This app contains early vocabulary which is appropriate for everyone. This app costs only £5 and you can find a link to our full range of apps on the publication page.
